Users' Organization.

Anyone interested in research using high magnetic fields is eligible to join the NHMFL Users' Organization. The benefits include the right to vote for members of the Users' Committee and receipt of quarterly newsletters describing recent events, new instrumentation, recent research, and other items of interest relating to the several sites and activities of the laboratory. There have been three meetings of the Users' Organization on the Sunday prior to the American Physical Society March Meeting. Meetings of researchers interested in chemistry, biology and other disciplines that can use high magnetic fields are planned for the future. Anyone wishing to join the organization and get on the mailing list should contact Bruce Brandt.

Users' Committee:

Established by the Cooperative Agreement, the Users' Committee is elected by the NHMFL user community. Members reflect the broad range of users including the users of DC Fields, Pulsed Fields, Ultra-High B/T Facilities, and the CIMAR instruments. The Users' Committee meets twice a year to provide guidance on the development and use of NHMFL facilities and services in support of the users. The Users' Committee Chair represents users' interests during National Science Foundation site visits and is a member of the External Advisory Committee. Members of the Users' Committee help evaluate users' proposals. The Users' Committee activities are supported by the Director of Pulsed Fields and the Director of Continuous Fields.
